The Wilderness Act of 1984 has made sure that this 24,500-acre Nantahala Wilderness Area will remain just as you see it now. It can never be logged for timber or developed in any way. We hope you will take the time to hike into this vast, beautiful area and see for yourself what the early Appalachian settlers would have seen as they came here. A requirement here at TURNSTONE is to have a good time and relax while you enjoy our beautiful cabins, creek and mountains.
